Gutter Clog In Underground Downspout

  1. This is a tricky clog to unclog because the pipe is underground and can be crushed or damaged by tree roots, it could need a complete replacement or it could be an easy fix by just being clogged at the place where the pipe and downspout meets. To figure out what needs to be done, remove the boot of the bottom of the downspout to see the opening of the underground downspout area. Remove visible debris.
  2. Turn on a garden hose and force it into the underground portion of the line; the water pressure may dislodge the clog. If this does not seem to work, call a professional. They will have tools and will be able to assess the damage better.

If you do not have the time or confidence in removing some of these clogs please call a professional.
