What Causes : Rain To Overshoot Gutters

Post Image

Rain To Overshoot Gutters What causes Rain to overshoot gutters? Rain can be sneaky and cause a lot of problems with your home that you never thought possible. Rain overshoots your gutters it can cause a lot of problems with your home so it’s something that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. A few different reasons that your gutters could be overshooting your gutters (besides that it might be raining really hard). Too much water being forced down the valley on your roof To prevent the amount of water over running your gutters, one of the best options is using an L-shaped piece of metal (the same metal as the gutters) riveted to the top of the outside edge of the gutter at the base of the valley. This vertical piece of metal acts as a barrier, and splits the water coming down the valley and redirects it into the gutter.   Water is missing the gutters completely Improperly installed gutters. Too small gutters cause this. You need oversized gutters. Roof pitch is so extreme that roofing material to significantly overhang the gutters. Choose a bigger gutter. This will keep the water from overshooting the gutters entirely. If the water seems to be going half in and half out This can be a issue of the pitch of your gutters.  You should have a professional correct it. If you have gutter guards and it seems to let water roll right over it. Gutter guards can be tricky since you have to do your research when choosing one. Screen mesh gutter guards seem to be the best when choosing one that lets rain water evenly distribute. If it doesn’t allow a massive amount to slide by.  Whereas curved gutter guards tend to overshoot a little easier when it rains harder. Rain gutter size are truly determined by the size (sq footage) of your roof and availability for downspouts. For a free estimate on gutter cleaning, repairs or adding gutter guards, call us today!
