3 Ways To Dispose Old Gutters

3 Ways To Dispose Old Gutters

Have you recently replaced your gutters? We have 3 Ways To Dispose Old Gutters.

3 Ways To Dispose Old Gutters

Recycle Them

Recycling old gutters is a good way to dispose of them.  Recycling centers will accept aluminum, copper and steel gutters.  As for vinyl, while very much recyclable, is not accepted by every recycle center. A quick call can let you know. If you’re not sure about where to find a recycling center, Lowe’s has their own recycling center where you can drop off building materials or just search the yellow-pages or internet.

Scrap Them

Scrap yards are another good place to dispose of old gutters. Most scrap yards will take aluminum, steel and copper gutters and will reimburse based on amount per pound of material. If you are having the scrap yard pick them up for you, check to see if there is a pick up fee. If not and you are taking them yourself, make sure to break them down for easier travel and that you can drive with your tailgate up.

Reuse Them

This can be the easiest when it comes to not having to drive them anywhere. There are numerous ways to reuse your gutters. We posted a few blogs about them in the past. Post #1 Link. Post #2 Link.

If you do not want to deal with your old gutters, we remove gutters from job sites. No extra added on fees. Give us a call today for a free estimate on replacement gutters.

Gutter Maintenance Tips #19 – Watch For Power Line Hazards

Watch For Power Line Hazards

Be mindful of power line hazards when clean your gutters out. When cleaning gutters around a power line cable that drops from the power pole to the roof of a building, conduct a visual inspection before climbing near it.Gutter Maintenance Tips #19 - Watch For Power Line Hazards

Look to see if the protective wire insulation hasn’t rubbed off through years of wear-and-tear by weather and nearby trees. If it looks like it does have damage, DO NOT attempt to repair it. Call the professionals!!  If it’s raining or there is a wire problem DO NOT attempt to clean out your gutters until it is fixed. Plus it’s never a good idea to clean out your gutters while it’s raining. Ladders can get slippery. If you do not want to hassle with it, call a professional.
